Since the January 12 Annual Meeting elected seven board members, your neighbors have been scurrying to launch 2026. They are building and expanding upon the fine work of the prior board. Here are some highlights.
Website. Arrangements are being made to upgrade and maintain www.bridgepointekcmo.com in coming weeks to make it an even more reliable source for current and historical information. It will have a calendar, meeting minutes, newsletters, Covenants and Restrictions, and lots of other information. The website will show the world, including potential buyers, realtors and new neighbors, what a great neighborhood BridgePointe is. Access to the directory and other private features will require a password which will be available after the website work is done.
Communications. Mass mailings, like this one, cost a lot of time, effort and money, so they’re rarely used. But so much is happening that it seems like a good time to reach every household — with no effort on your part! – so everyone can have the latest news, and can be heard. Email, through a platform called “MailChimp,” will be the primary way for direct communication, including notices of events, and regular newsletters. So, it’s really important to provide your email address so you can receive news immediately. (The email address will not be released or sold to anyone.) Information also appears frequently on Facebook at the private Bridge Pointe Neighborhood page which only neighbors can see. So, you should ask to be admitted to the page and then check it regularly.
Survey. The enclosed survey invites you to speak your mind, ask questions, and choose to participate. Please send the paper copy to 1813 NE 83rd St., or scan to ken@nelsonlawkc.com. Work is underway to enable online access to the survey, too.
Calendar. The most recent calendar is on the back of this sheet. It also will be updated constantly on the website. Notices and reminders of individual events will be sent by email and posted on Facebook. Volunteers to host and coordinate always are appreciated.
Swimming Pool. The pool is open to all neighbors using key fobs which are activated upon paying annual dues. The season starts on May 23, weather permitting.
Capital improvements. The biggest project for now is replacement of the original wooden retaining wall on the west side of N. Wayne at NE Barry Road.
Finances. As is customary, the Association’s records underwent a thorough independent review. As expected, the books are in good shape, with no irregularities. Most (150) homeowners paid dues by January 31, leaving 51 left to pay.
Covenants and Restrictions. Everyone who bought a home in BridgePointe adopted the Covenants and Restrictions. Compliance is what keeps the neighborhood great. Changes to exterior appearance of property require application and approval.
Officers and Directors. Association Members elected Mike Palikij, President; Judy Meier, Vice-President; Ken Nelson, Secretary; Jack Kammerer, Treasurer; Carolyn McClure, Architecture/Compliance; Scott McClure, Landscaping, and Jason White, Pool Management.
